The first of September is the Day of Knowledge

On the first September morning the cinema-hall “Aurora” hosted the event cherished by every first-year student of the International Banking Institute, namely the initiation into studentship. Their parents and relatives, some IBI senior executives, its teachers, employees and graduates of the previous years came to congratulate the freshers. Yury D. Derevyanko, the IBI President, Nina G. Shaiena, director of personnel department of North-West Sberbank for Russian Federation, Julia O. Barinova, the deputy chairperson of the board “VTB Bank Severo-Zapad” addressed the young students with the welcome speeches

Igor N. Zakharov, the first vice-president for the educational work, and Vadim V. Fattakhov, the dean of the IBI full-time and extra-mural departments, handed the best students of the academic 2008/9 year special diplomas “The student of the Year” and awarded them the scholarship named after Victor N. Veniaminov, the IBI founder and its first president. The firth-year student Olga Ivanova, the chair person of the IBI student’s Council, and the best graduate for 2009 Veronika Shalisko greeted the young with success- and luck-wishing speeches.
