The conference «St. Petersburg and Luxembourg: Partnership of centers for financial services» took place an April 14-15, 2010 in the hotel «Corinthia Nevsky Palace».
The Conference was opened with salutatory address by His Great Highness Grand Duke of Luxembourg Jean Guillaume.
Jean Crecke, the minister of economics and overseas trade was also among the speakers.
According to the Conference programme its second working day was opened with the salutatory address to the participants by the President of the International Banking Institute Yury D. Derevyanko.
Dr. Olly Pohjanvirta the President of the «Russian Capital Management» and the IBI Honored Professor made a report on «Prerequisites for setting up an international financial centre in St. Petersburg».

Fernand Grulms, the Chief Executive Officer of «Luxembourg for Finance» made a report «Luxembourg as an example of success factors for setting up international financial centres».
In other reports made by representatives of Luxembourg financial community a wide spectrum of issues related to Luxembourg economics and to the work of the Centre for financial services was taken up.
Some IBI student were invited to the Conference and had a chance to talk with representatives of the Luxembourg delegation and ask the Grand Duke questions.
