Academic and Pedagogical Council

The Council is the chief executive authority responsible for managing the quality of the organizational and educational processes at the IBI and created for coordinating the activities of the Institute’s various Divisions and Departments and their scientific and educational work and for carrying out the tasks set out in IBI’s Mission and Strategy Statement.

The Council deals predominantly with issues of current and long-term scientific and methodological plans, including syllabuses for the Departments. The activity of the Council is also concerned with enrolment and graduation numbers to and from the Divisions, Lyceum and postgraduate course. The Council also shapes the general policy for Teaching Units (UMK) development for every subject taught at the Institute. The policy is obligatory for each educational option. Additionally, the Council is the standard-setter as to the number and structure of Teaching Units and information to be studied.

However, the Council is empowered to make decisions in relation to other issues within its competence as stipulated by the current legislation of the Russian Federation, by the Institute’s Charter, regulations of the Board of Trustees and President.
